In this project, we added support and reinforcement for the floor system that has leveling issues and soft floors. when checking the crawlspace, the exiting posts were shifting, shimed, and some were too small (2″x4″). We installed “Sister” posts and concrete pier blocks next to the damaged ones. The new posts are 4″x4″ pressure treated wood with concrete pier blocks and a steel cap installed between the Girder Beam and the new posts. installing the new support will assist in the stability and reinforcement of the floor above and will prevent further leveling issues, cracks on the walls, and soft, hollow areas.
